Manifesto of the organization «Muslims against Islamism»

Common responsibility: The prophet Muhammed told many parabels about common responsibility. One of them was about the brothers who inhereted a sailboat. They shared the boat between them. One of the brothers inhereted the bottom of the boat. Once they were at sea they watched their brother drilling a hole in the bottom.

The prophet commented: If the other brothers didnt interfere they all would drown.

The society reminds us of a sailboat on the sea of the future. All culturel, ethnic and religious groups are siblings. But a muslim fraction are navigating by irresponsible thoughts and intensions   that can harm the norwegian society we all are a part of.

The problem: Even if science confirm that the majority of muslims born i Norway are not more religious than norwegians its still a religious elite who is dominating the public image of islam. With the help of media and the establishment this elite have become an undemocratic representative for the muslims and muslims born in Norway.

Who are we?:  We are born muslim, but we have different approaches to islam:

Some of us are liberal muslims. We mean that islam have to integrate into the democracy and reform in such a way that muslims can contribute to the society, encouraging for integration and identification to the values of the society.

Others are secular muslims. The religion does not play any matter in their lives, but they are still proud of islam as a cultural identity. They feel that they belong to a culuture with multiple aspects.

Some of us have an atheistic view of life. Regardless we respect islam as one of the countrys religions, a religion who shall have the freedom within the frame of democracy.

 1. Islamcriticism are not racism or islamofobia.

We mean that organized islamism have an exaggerated influence, especially after the cartooninsidence, were the islamist won, not with arguments but with threats.

Justified critics of islamism have long been stigmatised as muslimhatred and islamofobia. We mean its an expression of a healthy fear when we detest muslims that stone women to death in Iran or wants to force hijab on women in the norwegian society.

In the name of freedom, the society have to accept critics of this uniform without the critics should have to  be labled islamofobic or racists.

2.The islamists do not have the monopoly on the defininition of islam

We mean that since islam  have become one of our countrys religions, the public attention of islam  should therefore reflect the critics of integration hostility of islamism. Islam have many faces and interpretations. The public have the right to know other aspects about islam than what the religious leaders promotes and wich often are adjusted for public use. The reality are often different than what the muslim propaganda says.

3. Religious belief is a privat matter

We perceive the multicultral society as one society where the citizens share a common ground of values, democrazy, openness and equality.

We will in this respect fight against the forces who wants to create a muslim society besides the norwegian. A parallell society with values and thoughts that doesnt respect the liberties the society offers.

If a collectiv muslim identity is emphezised it will highlight the differences and what does not tie the muslims to the other citizens in our society. The differences creates distance, the equalities will tie us closer.

Its the equalities and the common values who creates a common platform for the entire society. If you worship Allah, God, Jahve , Buddha, a rock or natural science, you have to share the common platform wich the future society will be built on. Religion have its place within the frame of the house of worship, as a privat matter between man and God.

4 The individual are more important than the group

The governments practice in the development of the multiculturel society creates a distance between norwegians and immigrants that will increase over time.

This is because the government have been more focused of integrating groups instead of individuals. Our opinion are that the individual have to be in focus. The governments economical and moral support must not be favored by religious organisations on the cost of the individuals.

5 Islamism creates islamofobia

In the aftermath of the caricatures we have witnessed a dangerous development. The media have created assumptions for the message to be accepted without critisism.

The message are an important part of the islamists agenda in Europe. Al-Qaradawi have repetadly  said that Europe are islams future. All islamic spokesmen are direcktly or indirectly connected to Al-Qaradawi.

We renounce this messages. We want to live as citizens in a democratic country together with our fellow countrymen. We do not want to live in an islamic society.

Islamistic messages creates prejudices and fear among norwegians. We will fight prejudices and fear, not with labeling norwegians as racists and islamofobians, but simply show that we are well integrated in the society.

6 Islam have to be critizized

We mean that islam can not be a natural part of the norwegian society without the religion being subject to legitimate criticism of its unfortunate conditions. Islam have to withstand persistant criticism regards to discrimination on the bases of sex and sexual preferances, also regards to extremism and islamism as a political ideologi.

Our references are the liberties that the democracy gives us, not the bondages that religion legitimize or prohibit.

This is the essence of today’s most important issue. I would like to join this organization. I contacted you by e-mail, but got no answer. But do you think that the enlightened Muslims will get support in the community which now supports only those who scream about Islam?

    Dear friends,

First, thank you so much for forwarding your interesting Blog, and would like to congratulate you on this excellent project. I think Muslims in the West have been highjacked by the Islamist fundamentalists. I am one of those who was born Muslim, but I now live in England and am a British citizen and grateful to the British nation for adopting me and provided me with freedom. I am a liberal democrat and fully integrated in the British society and its culture. Therefore this project is very important to be read by the immigrant Muslims in the West to liberate themselves from the self imposed Ghetto.

    Wishing you all the best
    Kind regards
    Abdulkhaliq

I think the secular and enlightened among the Muslims is more than the religious. but «Muslims in the West have been highjacked by the Islamist fundamentalists». This is the core of the matter here. Mr. Abdulkhaliq Hussein understand the matter in depth. And it was amazing formulation.
How can we fight against them? How can we save the Muslims from them? I see that Europe’s support for the Islamists, makes the job difficult.

Mr. Abdulkhaliq, you have a brilliant head. HAve you any idea about the solution of this «struggel»?
(I read you artickles in arabic.)

    Mr. Hussein,

A question without the slightest intention of provocation and/or aggrevation.
How do you ccount for the fact that a new organisation’s (Muslims for Israel or along this line) head piece in the Jerusalem Post old us that in Britain – as opposed to the Continent, Continental countties/nations – has no (or no meaningful) liberal, anti-Isslamist Muslim groups or associations call it what you will. I think that he IS TRUE, I believe him. I’ve been to Britain and can sincerely tell eevryone that it’s an abject s***hole which serves the terror capital of the entire West.
I agree with the MfI project and I am extremely suspect about any so-called «moderate», «liberal» Muslim group, especially because of the fact that so many radical, extremist (most or all of them clearly antisemitic and outright Jew-hater) groups and formations have them, selves hijacked and deiscredited this moniker by their deliberately deceiving nature. don’t you think at all that we are justified in our scepticism and suspicion? DON’T YOU THINK THAT???!
